Graduated from Central in 1965. Had the honor of being Mr. Central 1965. Started on the Central Basketball Team for three years and was a member of the Track Team in my senior year. Shared command with Bryant Millsaps of the Central JROTC unit in my senior year. Other activites at Central are documented in the 1963 -1965 Champions. Received an athletic scholarship and played Division I College Basketball for four years. When I graduated from Auburn in 1969, I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Army Adjutant General Corps and served 25 years on active duty, retiring in 1994. Some of the military awards I earned include the Legion of Merit, one Meritorious Service Medal for Achievement, six Meritorious Service Medals for Service, Joint Service Medal for Achievement, two Army Commendations Medals, and Viet Nam Service Medal. Preservation of Chattanooga Central History 
My mother, nee Frieda Mylius, taught home ec at Central in 1927.(She is pictured in the faculty in the 1927 year book, page 14.) I’m not quite sure how long she taught there, but she could have started in Fall 1925, and she probably quit after Fall 1931 to go to Columbia U in NY. She had attended CHS and graduated in 1915. I’d be interested in anything further you have about this.
I have one big question: WHERE was CHS in 1927? One of the blogs said that CHS was founded in 1907 on Peachtree and Bennett, but a 1928 Chattanooga map does not show any large structure there. Another reference is to a site on Dodds Ave., but no mention of the cross street. A modern map of Chattanooga shows McCallie School at Dodds Ave and US 11; there is also a large space on the east side of Dodds at 1000 Dodds Ave.

The new building was not ready at the start of the school year in 1907, so classes began at the The Peachtree and Bennett location. In early January, the new building on Dodds Avenue and classes move there. The building was on a portion what is now shown a McCallie property. With additions, the building occupied the entire block between Bailey Avenue and Chamberlain Avenue. Currently, McCallie Soccer Field is there.
Thank you. Astonishingly on Google Earth I was able to go to 500 Dodds Avenue, then switch to street view and then from Dodds Avenue look toward the Soccer Field. You can actually see the Tennessee State marker for CHS and, by zooming in, pretty much read it.
I had some difficulty navigating the website. I found the 1917 “Champion” online, complete with my mother’s photo. I also found the 1925 yearbook, which would have appeared in spring when my mother was finishing her B.S. degree at U.T. Are there other years of the “Champion” posted between 1926 and 1931?
